The First

An over view of expectations and our Pre-collage assignments was given to us in class. We were told to take pics of anything of interest around 13th street. A building or structure that catches the eye, the beauty we see in a scene, to be captured and produced in a garment. I decided to look and photograph things that i believed had interesting patterns or color choices. A place with mood and feelings to be taken into creating this dress.

My Pics

 Hoboken

This picture was taken in a Hoboken park. I loved this setting because of the complementary colors of the green grass and trees with the red bricks. The organic uniformity of the trees along with the structure of the bricks give very beautiful patterns. I love how much can be taken from this image.

The same landscape from above was used in this picture, but taken fro a different angle and distance along with the fencing completely transforms the feel. A once peaceful area becomes monochrome and restrictive.

This area is under the canopy of trees shown in the first image. The building and alignment of the trees give it a very man made feel but because of the natural elements and colors a scene of nature and tranquility still persists.

13th Street

I liked this picture due to the complementary colors of red and green. The run down green building was a pealing. This image gives a more dreary feel but with the pop of yellow because of the taxi its not boring.

I chose the lower two pictures because of the interesting patterns & textures. The lower left image shows an interesting design and i particularly liked the pillar in the middle. The Writing and pattern of people at the top is very interesting and creates a sub-Sahara feel. While the lower right photo Creates ore options of volume or texture. It includes geometric and concave shapes creating an interesting flow.
